What is a Wingdings translator?
A Wingdings translator replaces each character with the symbol associated with its key in a Wingdings font. It can also reverse supported Unicode symbols back into text. Wingdings is a symbol font, not a spoken language.
Can I copy and paste Wingdings anywhere?
You can copy the Unicode equivalents produced here into messages and documents. Their appearance depends on the receiving app and fonts. For the original Wingdings appearance in Word, type the original text and apply a licensed Wingdings font.
Why do uppercase and lowercase look different?
Wingdings is case-sensitive. Uppercase H and lowercase h use different keys, so they produce different symbols. This tool preserves your case rather than silently changing it.
What is the difference between Wingdings 1, 2, 3 and Webdings?
They are separate symbol fonts with different key mappings. Wingdings 1 mixes pictographs, hands and shapes; Wingdings 2 includes writing tools and geometric shapes; Wingdings 3 focuses on arrows. Webdings is another pictographic font.
Can I translate Wingdings from an image?
Yes, with the assisted image decoder. Upload a screenshot, match each visible symbol against the chart, and build the text in reading order. It does not claim to automatically recognize symbols with OCR.
Is my text uploaded or stored?
The translator runs in your browser. Text and image uploads are not sent to an application server or saved by this tool. Cloudflare may process standard request logs when serving the website.
